The SC/ST Employees Welfare Association (SEWAS) is a dedicated organization of SC/ST employees at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST). Established on March 3, 2017, under the Travancore - Cochin Literary, Scientific, and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955, SEWAS aims to support the SC/ST community both within and beyond the institute. Its focus areas include welfare, legal, social, and economic empowerment of the members in the SC/ST community.
Vision
We are committed to upholding the visionary message of Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to 'pay back to society' by fostering welfare, legal advocacy, social upliftment, and economic empowerment for the SC/ST community. Through dedicated service and collective action, SEWAS strives to create an equitable and inclusive society, reflecting the ideals of justice, equality, and progress.
Mission
Our mission is to empower the SC/ST community by promoting their welfare, safeguarding their rights, and advancing their social and economic development. We are dedicated to fostering unity, providing support, and advocating for justice and equality within and beyond Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology. Guided by the ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, SEWAS strives to build a more inclusive and equitable society for present and future generations.
Beyond advocating for the rights of the SC/ST community within the institute, SEWAS actively extends its support to the broader community. Each year, the association organizes various charitable programs aimed at promoting the education of SC/ST communities in the various districts in Kerala. SEWAS also felicitates the achievements of its members and their families, offering recognition and immediate assistance for their social and personal needs. Through its continuous efforts, SEWAS remains committed to fostering inclusivity, empowerment, and social progress for the SC/ST community.
